Bowery Poetry Club and Cafe (www.bowerypoetry.com) has been around for 5 or 6 years now and is a WONDERFUL place for an after work beer, a quite glass of wine and a good book, a music performance or a reading! Truly a last-refuge of the Beat Generation, it gets my vote as the BEST bar in Manhattan. I have been frequenting it for nearly 3 years and don’t plan to stop any time soon!!
