Sing-a-Long YouTube clips

Here are some scenes from Friday night’s Buffy Birthday Bash. Thanks to the fans in the audience who posted these on the ol’ internet. And who wrote this swell review of the show.

Buffy-oke - the infamous Innocence scene. For some reason guys make the best Buffies.

Even I am surprised by how in synch our Xander and Anya are. Good job you guys!

Buffy’s birthday surprise: A ____ in a box.

I love when people get up and do the shirt dance.

You have to go on liiiiving.

The Friday night show was awesome. Thanks! Do you know when the next show in NYC will be?

Our next shows will be February 16, 17 AND 18 (three shows because it’s President’s Day weekend). I will post it here here the minute tickets go on sale!

I had a great time Friday! I shot two of the videos above and am uploading two more now.

I wanted to get a shout-out to www.thepeanutbloggery.com (the blog I shot the video for), and Tim Hayne’s review of the evening there.

Well done, everyone!

I have a vid of the other Buffy-oke from Friday night, which I would gladly post here if someone would show me how (and YouTube would decide to let me upload it!)

Had an awesome time (though I’m still shaking my head a little bit at the choice of scenes to act out — “Innocence” breaks me every time). I can’t believe I have to wait a whole month to do it again!!

Thanks! If you get that other vid up, just post the YouTube embed text in the comments and it will be up - or just put the link and I’ll add it in. And what makes you shake your head at Innocence, just the sheer heartbreak of it all? That’s the only scenes that really work in the -oke context: The Pain. Tragedy is way easier to try and emmulate than comedy, that’s for sure. And soon will come the day that a Buffy-oke performer isn’t just funny - but sells the role all the way!

Here it is — I hope this works!!

I think I didn’t like using “Innocence” because it’s one of those moments that every time you see it, you cry, and it just felt somewhat strange laughing at such a pivotal serious moment in the show. A scene like that drawn-out, overdramatized ending of “Amends” is totally kosher, though, because it merits making fun of — I think the comparable scene would’ve been the part in “Surprise” where Angel gives Buffy the ring and there’s that really mushy goodbye — that would’ve been fun to see!!
